Tucker Brown

About

Tucker Brown (he/him) is a current MA student in the Global Studies Department at UC Santa Barbara from Boone, North Carolina.  He completed his undergraduate education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, receiving degrees in Global Studies and Geography. At UNC, Tucker also specialized in Geographic Information Sciences (GIS) and Russian language. 


Tucker’s research interests relate to changing glacial conditions in mountain regions and their impacts on human communities. His MA thesis focuses specifically on relationships between high altitude mining projects, glaciers and communities in Chile and Argentina. In his free time, he enjoys playing football, hiking and being outside.
