About

Grant Menolascino (He/Him) was born and raised in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. He earned multiple associates degrees from Santa Barbara City College before graduating from UCSB in the Global Studies program. Grant is returning to UCSB following three years working as staff for a senior Member of Congress on the Agricultural Committee.

His research at UCSB seeks to examine the contradictions between the systemic need for cheap, exploitable labor in U.S. and Mexican agricultural sectors and the political and economic drive for militarization of deportation infrastructure. Grant hopes to build on his experiences in Congress to inform research on migration, transnational class dynamics, labor, and food systems.
