ProfessorFa rina Mir, historian of colonial and postcolonial South Asia in University of Michigan Ann Arbor, will be talking about her first book The Social Space of Language: Vernacular Culture in British Colonial Punjab, along with her other interest in the social, cultural, and religious history of late- colonial north India. Her book is a study of Punjabi langiange and its literature under colonialism from 1849 to 1947
