Bio

Renata (she/her) is Brazilian and has worked for more than 7 years combating Domestic Violence Against Women in Brazil. With a bachelor’s in Journalism and an MS in Consumption and Social Development (Federal Rural University of Pernambuco/BR), Renata also acted as a social entrepreneur in a startup she co-founded, Mete a Colher, and through this endeavor, she has helped thousands of women to break the abusive cycle with their partners. Now, in her Master’s in Global Studies, she is interested in combining two fields: gender-based violence (GBV) and human displacement. Beyond the professional profile, Renata loves dogs, plants, yoga, and hosting friends for dinner at her house.
