Global Square is a not-for-profit news magazine and all contributions and efforts undertaken are pro bono. Our community actively promotes diverse perspectives, multicultural dialogue, global connections and inter-cultural understanding. We hope to build a channel for truly global exchange of information and ideas that will empower young thinkers and journalists. We always look for passionate individuals to join our team. Publishing Policy

Global Square publishes a wide range of articles on issues of global significance. We don't publish press releases or public relations content. Global Square does not include hidden advertisements in its articles and does not participate in any kind of marketing. Our magazine does not influence the opinions and content of our writers and contributors. The personal opinions or judgements that may be expressed in articles are of the authors only. Global Square respects the rights of authors, designers and photographers. We never republish content or reproduce the work of others.

We strive to showcase your best work and encourage a variety of submissions, ranging from news stories, features, news analyses, interviews or photo essays. However, we have included some of the most desirable forms of content we may be interested in. Please find them below.

Analytical Feature

Analytical Features merge the rigor of scholarly research and vigor of journalistic writing. This article type studies, reports, interprets and discusses a newsworthy pressing issue of global importance. Analytical Features must feature original research and must incorporate semi-structured interviewing as one of the main research methods. This article type shouldn't exceed 3,500 words.

Current Affairs Article

This article type discusses current affairs and investigates pressing issues of global importance by advancing current developments or future directions of a given theme, issue or problem. Current Affairs articles are usually concerned with political, socioeconomic and cultural events that are available to further analysis or interpretation. They consist of factual representations of events which are considered newsworthy. This article type must include originally-sourced information through the use of interviewing as one of the main research methods. This article type shouldn't exceed 2,000 words.

Interview

Interviews are conversations with a purpose of investigating a pressing issue of global importance by advancing current developments or future directions of a given theme, issue or problem. Interviews feature prominent scholars and their work in order to encourage further conversations among researchers in the field of Global Studies. This article type shouldn't exceed 2,500 words.

Review

Reviews are platforms to offer unique perspectives and interpretations of political, socioeconomic and cultural events as well as books, movies, art shows, etc. Reviews offer a freedom of expression that can encourage further conversations. Arguments based on fallacious reasoning or emotions are not appropriate. This article type shouldn't exceed 2,500 words.

Opinion

Opinions are platforms to express viewpoints and offer unique perspectives and interpretations of facts, political, socioeconomic and cultural events, topics or themes relevant to the current affairs. Opinions offer a freedom of expression that can encourage further conversations. Arguments based on fallacious reasoning or emotions are not appropriate. This article type shouldn't exceed 2,500 words.
