Master of Science in Globalization

UCSB campusDr. Christopher Kollmeyer, a former faculty fellow in global studies at UCSB, has become the director of a new master’s program in globalization at the University of Aberdeen, one of the oldest universities in Great Britain.  The intensive, one-year program provides students with an advanced understanding of the economic, political, social, and cultural dimensions of globalization, and how these interrelated aspects of globalization can produces different effects in different parts of the world.

The program features a core course taught by the world-renowned Professor Roland Robertson, one of the first social scientists to study globalization and one of the most widely cited scholars in the field of global studies.

During the academic year of 2007-08, two graduates from global studies at UCSB enrolled in the program.  Both report to be learning a lot, doing well in their academic work, and enjoying tremendously their time in Scotland.
