Bhai Gurdas Fellowship for Research

In 2006, the Cetner established the Bhai Gurdas Fellowship to help scholars in Sikh and Punjab Studies to visit UCSB as well as do field work in the Punjab.

Recent recipients of this fellowship include:

2006-2007 Kristina Myrvold, History of Religions, Lund University, visited UCSB, to work on her doctoral dissertation entitled “Inside the Guru’s Gate: Ritual Uses of Texts among the Sikhs in Varanasi.”

Summer 2007 Dr. William J. Glover, Architecture, University of Michigan, spent three months in the Punjab visiting historical gurudwaras for his project on Sikh Architecture.
