Sikhism (RS 162C)
is a lecture course in which we trace the development of the Sikh
community from its founding in the 1520s to its modern manifestation
as a powerful religious minority in India.
The Sikh Tradition
(RS 213A) is a graduate seminar in which we use primary
sources in translation to discuss the evolution of Sikh religious
life from the community’s inception in the 1520s to the present.
Courses such as Mark
Juergensmeyer’s, Global Religions (GS 102), Global
Terrorism (GS 134), Religious Nationalism (GS 200), and
Gurinder Singh Mann’s Global Diasporas and Cultural
Change (GS 104) examine issues relating to Sikhism and
Punjab.
