Victor Faessel is Program Director of the Orfalea Center for Global and International Studies. He joined the Center in May 2006, bringing extensive background coordinating programs in research settings, most recently in the College of Engineering at UC Berkeley.

Victor completed his Ph.D. in Myth Studies from Pacifica Graduate Institute while living in Japan with his spouse and daughter. He is assistant editor of English-language publications at the Center for Interdisciplinary Study of Monotheistic Religions (CISMOR) at Doshisha University in Kyoto, and continues to explore his interests in myth at the (and as the) intersection of imagination and ideology.
