A community- based organization dedicated to alleviating the poverty and suffering among the world’s poorest people, Islamic Relief is an international relief and development charity founded in the UK in 1984 by Dr. Hany El Banna.  Core values integral to the Islamic faith (accountability, humanitarianism, inclusiveness, integrity, neutrality, impartiality and co-operation) inform IR’s international efforts to provide local communities with water and sanitation projects, orphan support, education, and microcredit- without regard to the race, religion or gender.  IR supports the millennium Development Goals and many of its programs around the world are contributing towards this humanitarian project.  Ahmed El-Bendary is the CEO of Islamic Relief USA. Islamic Relief strives to alleviate suffering, hunger, illiteracy, and diseases worldwide regardless of color, race, religion, or creed, and to provide aid in a compassionate and dignified manner. Islamic Relief aims to provide rapid relief in the event of human and natural disasters and to establish sustainable local development projects allowing communities to better help themselves.
