Professor Barandiarán's article: "Open Forum: Santa Barbara would embarrass California if it approves this dirty oil project"

Javiera Barandiarán, Assistant Professor of Global Studies along with colleagues Tristan Partridge (Research Affiliate at the Institute for Social and Behavioral Sciences, UCSB) and Mona Damluji (Assistant Professor of Film and Media Studies, UCSB) published today's Open Forum article for the San Francisco Chronicle

Professor Javiera and her co-authors discuss the new oil development in Santa Barbara county, which "could be one of the world’s dirtiest oil projects" and ironically coincides with the 50th anniversary of the Santa Barbara oil spill — when nearly 4 million gallons of oil polluted the coastline and killed thousands of marine animals and seabirds.
