Jesi Faust (PhD) Receives Boren Fellowship

Second year Global Studies PhD student, Jesilyn Faust received a Boren Fellowship to study Arabic and women's rights in Morocco from January 2018 to October 2018. The Boren Fellowship provides funding for graduate students to study less commonly taught languages in critical regions of the world. Jesilyn Faust is a second year PhD student in the Department of Global Studies at UC Santa Barbara. She holds a Masters degree in Spanish language and literature and a bachelors degree in political science both from Cal State Long Beach. She has published work on contemporary women's rights movements in Morocco and her study focuses on Spanish colonialism and women's rights issues in Morocco, Mexico, and the Philippines.
