Jonathan
Pfeiffer
Jonathan comes to the coast of Southern California from the desert of Northern Arizona. He is attracted to global studies because of the space it offers for big and small questions. For instance, Jonathan wonders how widely different institutions can work together to solve global problems that require new ideas and technological creativity.
Jonathan thrives on new experience. In order to make better public and private decisions, he finds no substitute for the hard (and sometimes discouragingly difficult) work of trying to understand large swaths of human experience. Toward that end, he hopes to learn Arabic.
Jonathan graduated from California Lutheran University with an interdisciplinary degree in biomedical engineering, politics, and philosophy. He has worked as a dental assistant for Jennings & Larson, an Engineering Aid for the US Bureau of Reclamation, a science policy intern at the Center for American Progress, and a contributor and editor for Columbia University's student journal, Consilience.
