Candidate Profiles
MAGIS Candidates, 2008 - 2010

Vedavati PatwardhanVedavati Patwardhan

Vedavati Patwardhan's interest in Global and International Studies was first sparked by her experience as a Student Ambassador representing India at the Paedagogische Austauch Dienst International Conference, which was organized and sponsored by the Ministry of Education of Germany. With representatives from over 50 countries, the conference fostered an intellectually stimulating forum for a rich and meaningful exchange of ideas on issues of global impact and outreach.

Inspired, Vedavati then earned her B.A. in Economics from the University of Pune in India. She loves learning new languages and is already fluent in Hindi, Marathi, German and French. She also has a decent working knowledge of Spanish, which she hopes to further improve upon during her time here in California!

Vedavati's ambition is to build on her analytical background, knowledge of economics, diverse language skill set but above all her experiences at UCSB to research and develop self-sustaining, economically viable business operating models for non-profit organizations, on a global scale.
