Vedavati PatwardhanVedavati Patwardhan

Vedavati Patwardhan's interest in Global and International Studies was first sparked by her experience as a Student Ambassador representing India at the Paedagogische Austauch Dienst International Conference, which was organized and sponsored by the Ministry of Education of Germany. Subsequently, Vedavati earned her B.A. in Economics from the University of Pune in India.

Vedavati interned with the Eleos Foundation, a Santa Barbara based  grant-making organization. She spent the summer in Hyderabad, India with the Naandi Foundation, a current Eleos grantee organization which operates a safe drinking water program for rural India. Vedavati is particularly interested in how technology can be used to create self-sustaining, economically viable business operating models in developing nations. She returned to conduct her research and  finish her academic studies in fall 2009.
