MASTER OF ARTS IN
GLOBAL & INTERNATIONAL STUDIES

Candidate Profiles
MAGIS Candidates, 2008 - 2010

Jayne LeeJayne Lee

Jayne graduated from UC Irvine with a degree in English and a minor in Spanish.  As an undergraduate, she studied abroad through the Universidad de Córdoba in Spain, and the University of Sussex in Brighton, England.

Her interests in global and international studies stems from her natural curiosity and fascination of cultures.  She is particularly interested in economic development and entrepreneurship opportunities for women in North Africa.  Furthermore, she would like to work closely with artisans cooperatives, promoting cultural understanding through business transactions.  She also hopes to learn Arabic and more specifically, Darija (the Arabic dialect spoken in Morocco).  Through the MAGIS program, she hopes to gain a better understanding of the economics behind poverty and the research skills necessary to find effective solutions for positive changes.
