For the most part, Sami's educational and professional pursuits were accomplished on an international scale. She spent half a year studying Italian culture in Rome. Two years later, she interned for the Office of the Secretary of Defense at the Pentagon. Shortly after that, she studied minority rights within the European Union on a scholarship through the University of Leipzig in Germany.
Sami was a recipient of the Orfalea Foundation Fellowship with the William J. Clinton Foundation in New York City. After finishing her fellowship with the Clinton Global Initiative, Sami traveled to Uganda to work with the UNHCR on their Ninemillion.org campaign. At the same time, she worked on the field at the Nakivale Resettlement Camp assisting the UNHCR with refugee influxes.
Sami is currently in Washington, DC working for the Department of Defense as a Management and Program Analyst.
