John Ucciferri
After receiving degrees in Political Science and History from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2002, Jack represented U.S. Youth at the World Summit on Sustainable Development in Johannesburg, South Africa. Next, he founded Giants Foot Surf, a surf lodge and surf tour provider located in southwestern Nicaragua.
Several years later, Jack realized that he was destined to return triumphantly to his alma mater and further his studies by completing a Master of Arts degree in global political economy.
In addition, Jack has been hired as Research and Advocacy Director for the Napa, California-based socially responsible investment advisory firm Harrington Investments. “Jack brings Harrington Investments a unique blend of academic and activist skills which will advance our social and environmental research as well as shareholder advocacy for our clients,” said John Harrington, President and CEO of HII. “Jack is also a small business owner, which provides him with the ‘real world’ business and finance background necessary to understand and balance the perspectives of various stakeholders,” added Harrington.
In addition to conducting environmental, social, and corporate governance research for HII, Jack will coordinate shareholder communications and corporate accountability campaigns on behalf of the firm. He brings a passion for using financial mechanisms in pursuit of a more just and sustainable global economy.
