Eddie Saade
Eddie holds a B.A. in Middle East Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Voted 'most likely to invert the social balance' by his peers, Eddie proceeded to look for work inverting the 'social balance' by working for the Institute for International Mediation and Conflict Resolution, before accepting an internship with the United Nations Development Programme in Lebanon.
For Eddie, every day carries with it a new perspective based upon the reassessment of the current global state of affairs. One day it may be the numbers bias of economics; the next day it may be comparative psycho-political analysis. Today it happens to be the globalization of western legalistic judicial and political systems.
In that vein, he traveled to Leipzig, Germany to study the European Union's relationship with the Middle East focusing on European integration, minorities in Europe, and humanitarian aid at the Erasmus Mundus Leipzig Summer Institute. He is currently planning to write his thesis on the export of Western legal and political systems to 'failed states'.
Eddie is always exactly where he needs to be, and is extremely enthusiastic about his time with the UC Santa Barbara’s Global and International Studies Masters Program.
He will return to UC Santa Barbara in the fall to pursue Arabic language studies and other research for his M.A. degree.
