Dan, originally from Canada, graduated from the inaugural MAGIS class in 2008. He wrote his Master's thesis on the political economy of Uzbekistan's cotton industry, examining the widespread human rights abuses that are extant within the country's cotton sector. Upon completion of his MA, Dan moved to Cambodia to take on the position of Managing Director at a grassroots NGO based in Siem Reap. He presently works in San Francisco as a Human Rights Program Associate for As You Sow, an organization dedicated to increasing corporate social responsibility, with a specific focus on supply chain transparency and traceability.
