Waleed El-Ansary is University Professor at Xavier University, Cincinnati, where he holds the Helal, Hisham and Laila Edris El-Swedey University Chair in Islamic Studies.  His most recent book (co-edited) is Muslim and Christian Understanding: Theory and Application of A Common Word, and he is the author of two forthcoming books, The Spiritual Significance of Jihad in Islamic Economics and Not by Bread Alone: E.F. Schumacher and the Perennial Philosophy.  He is interested in just and sustainable economic development and the intersection of religion, science, and economics.  He serves as an adviser to the Grand Mufti of Egypt.
