GLOBAL STUDIES B.A. 2007 - 2008

 

PREPARATION FOR THE MAJOR
I. Global 1, 2

II. One course from the following: Anthropology 2; Economics 1, 2; Environmental Studies 1, 3; Geography 5; Political Science 6, 7; Religious Studies 1; Sociology1; Women's Studies 20, 30

III. One course from the following: Art History 6C-D-E-I-K; East Asian Cultural Studies 2, 3, 4B, 80; History 4C, 8, 17C, 46, 49B; Middle Eastern Studies 45

IV. Completion of quarter six (or equivalent) of a modern foreign language

V. Completion of one additional year of a modern foreign language
     a) SAME language as used to satisfy Section IV ­ Advanced language or upper division courses (12 units)
     b) DIFFERENT language from that used to satisfy Section IV ­ Beginning year of a language (12 units)


UPPER-DIVISION MAJOR

NOTE:   OLD MAJORS (Area I Core Classes)

• You have an emphasis from when you declared the global major – before July 2006.
       SocioEcon and Politics  (Global 121, 122, 123, 124)
       Culture and Ideology (Global 101, 102, 103, 104)

• You need TWO classes for your Area I core class requirements.
• You can use any of your original core classes OR any of the three new core classes for your Area I requirements.  That gives you 7 options for the two classes you need.
