Jesus Zavala
Class of 2003

I just graduated last Saturday and I'm ready to begin work in Santa Barbara. Currently I have 2 jobs. One is at "Casa de la Raza" where I'll be working with elementary students from the 4th to the 6th grade. I'll be tutoring them so that they improve their literacy and reading comprehension skills. I'll also be working part time at Westmont Collage. I'll be an RA for the summer enrichment program for new collage students.

These jobs end in late August and so does my lease in I.V. I think I'll end up somewhere in Jalisco, Mexico by September to celebrate Mexican Independance Day. In the meantime I hope to find a job in Mexico where I can teach English to help pay for my housing down there in places like Puerto Vallarta or perhaps Cancun. I could enjoy the weekends and travel a little with one of my best friends since his goals are similar. I'll spend some time with relatives during Christmas and New Years. I hope to be back in the States by late January and get an internship somewhere in the political/social/educational sector to keep me busy in the weekdays. My ultimate goal is forming my rock band and practicing in the evenings to see if "we" have great success. That's my year in a nutshell.

Sincerely,

Jesus Zavala
