Monica Isaza
Class of 2001

August 26, 2004:

Dear friends and family,

First of all I would like to apologize for the group email. I know it is impersonal and not exciting but this time I will have to do it as I want to send this info to all of you. With some of you I have actually not been in touch with for quite awhile and I apologize for that. Nonetheless I have not forgotten you and I want you to know that I have not fallen off the face of the earth and I am still here in Bangladesh after a crazy 2 years and lots of water.

I will not say too much so I can keep this short but I would like to tell you that soon I will be ending my PC service on Sep 14 and that is going to be one great moment to say the least! As you all know and can imagine this has been quite an unbelievable experience and today I can say that I feel a bit scared, uncertain, happy, excited and most of all Ii can feel a great sense of accomplishment like I have never felt before.

What will happen next I am not sure but I do know that I am going to travel for a bit in South Asia. This is an amazing, beautiful, exciting and vibrant part of the world and there are endless things to see and explore. As I am finishing my sevice here in Bangladesh I am planning to have a photography show to display my photographs of Bangladesh through out my PC experience. The show will be in Dhaka tentatively on September 15-16 , but definitely before I leave the country.

As all of you know, photography is a great passion of mine and it has really been able to flourish here. I am writing to all of you to kindly ask you for donations to make this show happen. I will invest what I have but that is not much, as you can figure. Anything that you can donate will be of great help to make this two-year goal of mine become a reality..........And if the show is successful, I shall donate some of the profits to flood relief efforts which are much needed, specially in Dhaka. If you are interested in sending some donations to Mo, please send it to my mom's adress and she will deposit the money into my account. Sorry it is a bit of short notice but time flies around here and there is a lot going on with me preparing to leave my service and the country.

Please send donations to:

Lucero Cardenas
313 Diamante Way
Oceanside, CA. 92056

760 721 2677
luceroc@hotmail.com

I will keep you posted on the show and as soon as I get the invitations made I will scan it and send it to you all ASAP. I will also post some of the pictures so you can have a virtual show since you will not be able to attend it and I would love for all of you to be able to be there to see it. I very much appreciate all of your support with my effort. But I appreciate even more all of the caring, love and incredible emotionall support that most all of you in a smaller or bigger way have given me through out these 2 years. I would not be here today without you and for that I would very much like to take this opportunity to THANK YOU!!

I hope this letter finds you all well, healthy and happy to wake up everyday and see the sunshine!!! All my love to all,

Mo

PS: If there are other people who are not included in this group email that know me and you think may be interested in helping me with this effort i would appreciate it if you passed on the message to them. Thank you all once again
