September 16, 2004:
I graduated with a global studies
degree in the fall of 2001, and then spent the following
several months working as the studio assistant to a
wood sculptor while saving money for travel. In August
2002 I got on a plane from San Francisco to London with
a pocket full of cash and no itinerary. Six months later
I arrived back in San Francisco, having been to 17 countries
throughout Europe, South East Asia, and the South Pacific.
Since then I have managed
another trip to Europe and a short stint in the Peruvian
Amazon basin. As an amateur photographer, all of my
travels have been thoroughly documented.

I am currently living
in northwest Washington D.C. working as an emergency
management analyst. My work involves technical and
logistical support to government agencies including
the Environmental Protection Agency, the Federal Emergency
Management Agency, Department of Homeland Security,
and the Army Corps of Engineers.
Graduate school lingers
on the horizon but not before another foreign adventure
of undetermined length.
