I am a former Global student now
living in Europe (you may remember, I was in the group in
your terrorism seminar Spring of 2002. We indicted you under
the USA-Patriot).
Anyway, I've finished my EAP year here in Germany
and am waiting for the lovely University bureaucracy to get
finished shuffling my paperwork so I can officially be a graduate.
I'm going to be bumming around here on the Continent for a
while, but eventually plan on getting back to school, I'd
like to pursue a MA and hopefully PhD in Global (or something
like it), but am having a hard time finding places that accommodate
my lust for academia. I was hoping that you may be able to
point me in some direction. Are there Grad Programs out there
that look something like the upper-div work in Global that
I did at UCSB? I have a feeling that I'll have much better
chances asking someone in the field rather than just throwing
some words into Google and hoping that they find something
for me. It'd be great if you could just send me a few names
of schools and maybe contacts there from the top of your head,
both within the US and abroad. Please don't take too much
of your valuable time on this, but what little info you can
give me would be an enormous help.
Thanks,
Jeff
P.S. One of my jobs here is editing an academic
journal that should be right up your alley: it's from a conference
on "Sleepers" in a post 9/11 sense. If you're interested
let me know and I'll tell you when it's finished.
