Professor Juergensmeyer,
hello, my name is Elizabeth Martinez and I am
a Global Studies major currently abroad for the Fall quarter.
I am studying in Madrid, Spain and it is amazing how the election
situation in the U.S has been front page news here in Spain
for the past couple of weeks. I have talked to many Spanish
people, students, my host family and professors, and it is
very interesting to learn their point of view on all this.
They pretty much all think our election system is ridiculous
and as has been mentioned, the Spanish beleive it that our
election system should be changed.
I will have much to share when I return! I also
would like to sit down and talk to you because I will be graduating
this year. I look forward to my return but am having the time
of my life abroad! (except for all the terrorism, the Spanish
way of life is extraordinary!)
